July Social Groups

Winter is well and truly here and at DAS we are keeping a sunny outlook on all the cool social group activities up and running for July!

To heat things up, we are heading to Bar Beach Bowling Club on the 1st of July to fire up the BBQ and play a game of bowls. From 11am-2pm, expect to enjoy a delish sausage sandwich to warm your belly and fuel yourself for some friendly competition with a game of lawn bowls! Please bring along $5 as a donation for the BBQ.

Tuesday 4th of July brings in our first outing for the school holidays, and we are heading off to Caves beach to do some exploring through the rock pools. This will be followed by a picnic along the water to wind down and relax- just what the holidays are for! This will be a little road trip starting from 10am-3pm. Make sure to bring a packed lunch for the picnic.

The 6th will see DAS visiting the infamous cranky croc, Elvis, at the Australian Reptile Park! From 10am- 4pm we will be braving the Jurassic giants along with other infamous deadly critters around the park as well as some cute and cuddly friends! Participants are encouraged to BYO lunch or money for lunch on the day and to wear some comfortable walking shoes.

On Saturday 8th from 11am-2pm we’re off to celebrate the Winter Fun Fest! Rug on up and get excited for an afternoon of rides, food and great company. Entry is $5, but be sure to bring along some spending money for show bags, food and fun all alongside beautiful Nobby’s Beach Reserve.

Our second day trip for the School Holidays is on 10th July, where we'll get a glimpse into history at Maitland Gaol from 12pm-4pm. Dive deep into the rich, infamous history of one of NSW’s most prominent prisons. Learn about all the good, bad and spooky tales that the gaol is famous for, followed by a lunch with good company. Make sure to bring along some spending money for lunch or BYO.

On the 14th, we are setting sail to spot the gentle giants of the ocean- whales! We will be at the helm of the Whale Watch Express departing from beautiful Port Stephens to locate these beauties in their natural habitat. We will be leaving at 9:30am and returning at 03.00pm.

After so much action we need a rest, and on the 15th we’re off to the movies to kick back and relax. The film is TBA based on session availability on the day, and cost will be the price of the ticket; however we recommend bringing some extra cash to spend on lunch or BYO to have with the group afterward!

Deuce love tennis? We sure do! Come along on the 22nd and have a swing of the racket from 11am-3pm! No cost for the court hire but bring along some extra cash for lunch or BYO and we promise not to make any more terrible tennis puns.

To wrap up our action packed month of social group activities, on the 29th we are making like Tarzan and swinging from the trees at Tree Tops Adventure Park. From 11am-3pm we will be enjoying the view and adventure, followed by lunch. Make sure you wear comfortable active clothing and enclosed shoes!

Alongside all of this excitement we will also be continuing with our regular DND (Dungeons and Dragons) groups, and Friday night gaming at the Underground Arcade. There are so many action packed activities coming for us this month so make sure you book in advance so you don’t miss out by clicking here and filling out the form. You can attend as many as you would like!

If you have any ideas for social groups please don’t hesitate to let us know, and we will see what we can do. Email us at groups@dasnsw.com.au
